Shenzhen Children's Park, a cherished urban landmark for over 37 years, is poised for a significant transformation and is scheduled to reopen in June 2026. This comprehensive upgrade aims to enhance its role as a leading family-friendly recreational space in the city, integrating innovative facilities, ecological design, and educational experiences
Expanded & Intelligent Parking: A major addition is the introduction of Guangdong Province's first and China's largest fully underground double-layer AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle) robotic automated parking garage. This facility will add 404 parking spaces, increasing the total capacity to 440 spots. The AGV system allows for fully automated vehicle storage and retrieval, significantly improving parking efficiency and convenience for visitors.
Revitalized Play Zones: The park's renovation includes the creation of six themed play areas designed to cater to diverse interests and age groups. These zones focus on activities like sand play, water interaction, and adventurous exploration, fostering both fun and learning.
Preserved Heritage with Upgrades: Iconic features such as the beloved "Big Elephant Slide" have been retained and refurbished with enhanced safety and aesthetic improvements. The classic Twelve Zodiac sculptures have also been repositioned within the park to enrich the visitor experience.
New Supporting Facilities: The upgrade includes the construction of new dedicated spaces such as a Children's Activity Center, a Children's Dining Center, and a Nature Classroom, broadening the park's service and educational offerings.
The rejuvenation of Shenzhen Children's Park, alongside the development of new thematic parks, underscores Shenzhen's commitment to creating high-quality, accessible, and innovative public spaces that cater to the well-being and recreational needs of children and families across the city.
