The natural beauty and unique patterns of natural stone have inspired people to imitate it, especially in regions lacking mine resources. Artificial stone products look highly realistic, yet they can be easily distinguished upon careful observation in the following aspects:

First, pattern and tone of the stone itself.

The veins and colors of natural stone are naturally formed with irregular and organic textures, such as Golden Line Beige and Silver Line Beige. The veins of artificial stone are artificially simulated regular lines with neat and monotonous color patterns.

Second, the weight of the stone.

For slabs of the same specification, natural stone is much heavier, while artificial stone is relatively lighter.

Third, wear resistance.

Artificial stone cannot match natural stone in compressive resistance and wear resistance.

Fourth, acid and alkali resistance.

Hydrochloric acid can be used for testing. A drop of hydrochloric acid on natural marble will produce abundant foam, while artificial marble shows no obvious foaming reaction.

Fifth, permeability.

Natural stone has stronger permeability than artificial stone. When colored liquid is dropped on the surface of natural stone, the color will penetrate deep into the interior and leave stubborn marks that are hard to remove. In contrast, artificial stone has poor permeability; color penetrates slowly and will leave no traces if wiped off in a timely manner.

Sixth, service life.

For stone slabs of the same specification, the service life of natural stone is far longer than that of artificial stone.
