Currently, most 800×800 mm floor tiles on the market are 12 mm thick. The newly developed tiles, which are more than half as thin and over twice the area, not only mark the first appearance in China but also represent cutting-edge progress internationally in the construction ceramics sector. Due to their large size and excellent jointing performance, many large-scale digital printing techniques have been applied to these new thin plates. However, due to their large surface area, professional installation guidance is required during laying. Industry experts believe that for thin ceramic plates to achieve large-scale production, they must enter the home decoration market—offering both large and small sizes will provide greater prospects.
