The standard for stone crystallization and hardening treatment

(1) The mirror‑image clarity of recrystallized hardened surfaces shall not be lower than the relevant standards. Where the mirror gloss is below 50°, recrystallization hardening construction may be performed directly, and testing for mirror gloss and clarity can be waived.

(2) Recrystallization hardening treatment shall not alter the stone color. The finished surface shall be free of traces of stone crystal hardening agent, steel‑wool marks, grinding marks and scratches. The overall surface shall be dry and clean, with consistent gloss and clarity across the area.

(3) Recrystallized hardened surfaces shall possess adequate slip‑resistance. The slip resistance of stone surfaces after recrystallization hardening shall comply with slip‑resistance standards.

(4) In accordance with current national standards combined with practical on‑site experience, after comprehensive stone grinding and recrystallization hardening treatment: granite shall achieve a gloss of 85 units or higher; marble shall achieve a gloss of 80 units or higher; microcrystalline stone shall achieve a gloss of 85 units or higher; artificial synthetic stone shall achieve a gloss of 75 units or higher; terrazzo shall achieve a gloss of 75 units or higher; ceramic tiles shall achieve a gloss of 75 units or higher.

(5) A noticeable improvement in mirror‑image gloss shall be obtained after recrystallization hardening. For unworn new stone, the gloss after recrystallization hardening shall exceed the national standard for that stone material. For worn, gloss‑depleted stone, a distinct recrystallized hardened layer shall be formed; the surface gloss shall be increased by a minimum of 10‑15 gloss units.
